On Sunday, February 17, tens of thousands of people will be urging President Obama to move Forward on Climate, as he promised in his inaugural address. I, for one, will be standing strong, and encouraging my friends and neighbors to join me in calling on President Obama and all our leaders to take bold and decisive action on climate change.
The Climate Reality Project is joining more than 100 organizations to create the largest climate rally ever. The main event will be in Washington, D.C., and I encourage you to attend this historic event. If you need transportation, more than 100 buses are coming from 28 states. There are still seats available — find a ride near you.
And if you can’t make it, there are already 11 solidarity events being organized around the country, with new ones being added to the list every day. Find one near you, or organize one in your town.
Even if you can’t get to an event, I hope you will use your Facebook or Twitter accounts to join in a Thunderclap — an exciting social media tool to send President Obama a message.
I look forward to joining with you to move forward on climate.
Peter G. Joseph, M.D. Climate Leader, California
