In it’s analysis of how population changes in Virginia will affect the redistricting process (Virginia Redistricting: Protecting Incumbents Again?), the Rose Institute of State and Local Government lays out several alternatives for expanding and contracting congressional districts. Will Rappahannock County remain in the 7th CD? Will we be absorbed into the 6th Cd to our west, which is currently underpopulated? Or will we be absorbed into the 10th CD to our north, which is currently overpopulated, but which Republicans may try to move westward, away from the Democratic-leaning DC suburbs?
