As we process what seemed like an inconceivable outcome, we should first celebrate the work we did. Tim Kaine is going back to the Senate for a third term! Suhas Subramanyan will represent us in the CD10. Those of us who canvassed in Culpeper and Madison helped Eugene Vindman fill Abigail Spanberger’s shoes in CD7! They are ready to fight in Washington for our Democratic values—for democracy itself.
The Rapp Dems are stronger and bigger than ever. Last night’s election party at New Iberia attests to our unity and joy. We can and will come back stronger.
As Margaret Mead said: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
Let’s rest up and meet again this Saturday, November 9th for our next general meeting at the Washington Town Hall. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. for coffee and conversation, meeting starts at 10:00 a.m. See you there!
We’ve got elections to focus on next year too, including sending Abigail to Richmond next year and supporting a new candidate against Mike Webert. 2026 will be here before we know it, so let’s come together, reflect and strategize on how we shape the future!
