SAVE THE DATE for the next General meeting of the Rapp Dems on March 12, 2022 at 10 am. We will meet in person at the Library, 4 Library Road, Washington VA. Doors open at 9:30 am for coffee and conversation. The meeting lasts one hour. There will be a Zoom option for those who want it, and a link will sent with a reminder on Friday. Please sign up to receive our emails, if you haven’t already.
NOTE: We need to approve the revised official RCDC By-laws. You received a preliminary draft last month to review. I’m attaching it again here. A vote will be called to approve the by-laws, including the amendment to Article VIII: Duties of Officers. It’s required that we have a quorum of RCDC members to vote on approval of the by-laws. So please do attend!I
The RCDC does not endorse any candidate during primary campaigns. Any Democratic candidate or candidate’s committee may add their Rappahannock County events to the RCDC calendar.
We look forward to seeing you at our next general meeting on Saturday, February 12 at 10 AM via Zoom.
(We hope to meet in person again in April!)
We’ll be joined by Lynlee Thorne, Political Director of Rural GroundGame, to talk about today’s politics in rural Virginia. Find out more about this organization at https://www.ruralgroundgame.org
Virginia’s Republican Governor Youngkin has set up a tip line to report ‘divisive’ teaching practices.
Youngkin said on The John Fredericks Show,
“We have set up a particular email address called helpeducation@governor.virginia.gov, again helpeducation@governor.virginia.gov, for parents to send us any instances where they feel their fundamental rights are being violated, where their children are not being respected, where there are inherently divisive practices in their schools.”
Below is the response by the Virginia Education Association.
Now more than ever, it’s important to protect election integrity.
The Rappahannock Democratic Committee is looking for Democrats willing to serve as election officials on Election Day at our six polling places in the county.
You only need to be a registered voter in your precinct and undergo a few hours of training. Each term is three years. And you’re paid for your time!
