Rappahannock County Democratic Committee

Let’s Canvass Every Saturday Until Election Day!

KNOCK FOR VOTES

Join us in knocking on doors and getting out the vote for this crucial 2023 State election that will determine the control of the General Assembly–and whether the GOP can continue to erode our rights–to vote, to control what happens to our bodies, to educate our children, to breathe clean air and drink clean water, and so much more! With the new district lines, getting information to voters is more important than ever!WHEN: Every Saturday morning at 10 amWHERE: The Corner Deli Market (the old Hackley’s Store) 14820 Lee Hwy in Amissville.Eve Brooks is organizing this effort. Here’s what canvasser Christine van den Torn says:

“Eve and I and a few others have been out in the past weekends and it definitely showed us how important it is! Many people just aren’t paying attention to the races and don’t know the facts about how to vote. You will be on a team of two, so you’re not alone. It is actually fun and invigorating! We are going to Democratic and Democrat-leaning households. I haven’t had one difficult or rude interaction. Everyone has been pretty nice and willing to talk. And it only takes about 2 hours for one list of doors, so not much of your time. The Deli market where we meet has really good breakfast sandwiches and pupusas! “

Another smashing Rapp Forward fundraiser in Rappahannock Co!

Last weekend at the home of Linda and John Donovan, over 100 guests came out in support of razor-thin races in VA that will determine control of the House of Delegates and State Senate! Sen. Creigh Deeds, former House Speaker Eileen Filler-Corn, and Del Jennifer Carroll Foy roused the crowd for three hot Democratic candidates: Russet Perry for Senate 31, Travis Nembhard for House 22, and Josh Thomas for House 21. Jason Ford, our candidate for Senate 28, also joined the crowd. We raised over $50,000 for these crucial contests. By the end of the evening, a harvest super-moon shone down on the hills of our beautiful county. A good omen!
